Rank: Lieutenant
Primary duty: Helmsman
Secondary duty: Flight (fighter)
Ancestral link: Alexander Ice, pilot
Aunt: Ice, Lady Theresa
Age: 29
Status: Medical Leave
Career:
Performed tolerably well in primary school, though he was hindered by his friendships with bullies. As a youth, Julian was easily swayed and followed whoever took charge, regardless of the morality of their actions. In secondary school, he rejected his former friends and focused on his school work, thus improving greatly. His ascent exams indicated strong spatial awareness and technical aptitude. He applied for, and was accepted, into the pilot course. Though his primary interest was fighter, he was assigned to the bridge upon course completion.
In the early days of the Sons of Liberty rebellion, an explosion near his console caused a spinal injury leading to paralysis from the waist down. This set his career on hold as he underwent numerous surgeries and treatments in order to correct the injury. Alien technology and engineering prowess allowed him to walk again temporarily.
Family and Relationships:
Julian lost both his parents young. His father died during a mining mission and his mother died a few years later. At the start of the rebellion, his only living relative was his aunt, Lady Theresa Ice. She died during the rebellion, leaving Julian as the only known descendant of Alexander Ice on board.
As a teenager, Julian developed feelings for Freya Ryan. This caused him to lose several "friends" due to her status as an embryotic but also allowed him to focus more intently on studies. She rejected his advances repeatedly, mostly due to the rules of society, but eventually relented. They became a couple in their twenties and dated exclusively for five years before the rebellion began. Despite Julian's desire to take the relationship further, Freya refused - again due to the rules. Their relationship was ended by Julian shortly before Freya joined the Sons of Liberty.
Allegiances:
Julian's allegiance is fluid - often depending on who exerts the most control. While he claimed to desire change, he made no real effort to effect said change. He was neither a loyalist nor a rebel - instead choosing to wait for the outcome.
