Aribeth Bonwick Biography

*Reading main character crew biographies may contains story spoilers.*

    Rank: Sub-Commander

    Primary duty: Chief Security Officer

    Children: Bonwick, Jake

Age: 45 (at time of death)

    Status: Deceased

Career:
Aribeth knew at a young age that she wished to head a department some day. Without a direct ancestral connection to recommend her, she needed to work diligently toward her goal. Aptitude tests recommended security or command. Realizing command was practically unattainable, she applied for security. She joined the forces shortly after Ben O'Neill moved below decks. She rose quickly through the ranks, demanding respect and loyalty of every person beneath her.

Though she had some prejudices toward those of "lesser birth," she became malevolent toward them after having her heart broken. As a result, she tended to assume any crime committed was done by either an embryotic or a Quuvarii. She punished them more severely and was unscrupulous in regards to interrogation. Under her command, the security department quickly filled with the most intolerant people.

During the rebellion, Bonwick arrested and interrogated anyone of "lesser birth." Her interrogation methods, though well known, were never reprimanded as she had the unspoken support of the Council and Lady Theresa Ice.

Family and Relationships:
Aribeth met and secretly dated an embryotic named Jake in her early twenties. Had their relationship become public knowledge, her career would have been ruined. She, foolishly, went to bed with him and became pregnant. Before she even knew about the baby, he ended their dalliance and broke her heart. She gave birth to a son and named him Jake, like his father, though she never admitted to his parentage. The child's DNA was confirmed and carefully hidden under Council orders.

Allegiances:
Bonwick was a staunch Loyalist until the day she died. Had she lived, she would have struggled under the new order of things. Privately, Lady Ice praised her often and encouraged her to root out the Sons of Liberty by "whatever means necessary."

Death:
During the final battle of the rebellion, Bonwick was near a console that exploded under heavy fire. She was severely burned. Medical teams attempted to graft new skin over the burns but a secondary infection soon set in. On the way to Ne'Vha colony, Bonwick's heart stopped beating. Freya, and the colony medical staff, kept her alive with machines long enough for her son to say goodbye.
